Got enough juice in your iPhone or iPod Touch? Check out 'Crayon Physics'
If you're fortunate enough to have an iPhone, the so-called "Jesus Phone"—or at least its cousin, the iPod Touch—you’ll no doubt know what a cool and powerful device you hold in your greasy, touch screen smudging hands. There are so many cool things that can be done on these things: you can play music, watch movies, check e-mail and even play games.
Let's take games. Are they good enough to make you want to throw your Nintendo DS or Sony PSP in the garbage? The short answer is no, but there are some pretty cool experiences to be had for a fraction of the price of other portables’ games.
Take "Crayon Physics Deluxe" for instance. This game originally appeared as an online game, but has been perfectly ported to the Apple App Store. The kindergarten-style puzzle game has you drawing blocks, wedges, hinges and strings to make a little ball roll into a star. It’s a simple premise that will become more and more complex with each passing level. While drawing on the iPhone’s touch screen is not nearly as precise as a mouse, the slight drawback is far outweighed by the ability to take and play this fun game anywhere.
While there are many free games available on the App Store, "Crayon Physics" is worth the price of entry. It’s endlessly playable and makes for a good 'oh hey, my iPhone’s charged!' moment.
