After many months of “fans” spreading rumors around the Internet that A Day To Remember would sell out on its new album What Separates Me From You, the verdict is in…no, the band didn’t. Even though there are more pop-punk songs than hardcore songs on this album, the band still retains the same musical quality that made fans fall in love with the band in the first place.
A Day To Remember has made very good pop-punk songs in the past and it doesn’t disappoint on this album. But don’t let the fact there are more pop-punk songs cloud your judgment of the album. The beginning of the first song on the album, “Sticks and Bricks,” starts out with a breakdown that would start a mosh pit almost anywhere it would be played.
What Separates Me From You is a damn good album and it’s really easy to get into. But if you’re coming into this album expecting nothing but screaming and breakdowns, this album isn’t for you. If you were a fan of Homesick and the A Day To Remember that puts you in a good mood every time you listen to them, this album is for you.
