“Tangled” is the newest addition to the Disney family, and it’s destined to become another Disney classic.

A modern twist on the whimsical fairytale Rapunzel, “Tangled” is the perfect execution of fun for the whole family. It’s the sweet fairytale with the iconic princess that little girls adore but also has enough action and suspense to keep little boys captivated for the movie’s 100 minutes. The humor in the movie is also good enough to have parents laughing throughout the entire thing.

Family flicks might not be the most appealing for college students, but how many college kids would admit that movies such as “Finding Nemo” or “Toy Story” are great? “Tangled” has the same kind of humor and charm that will keep all ages amused.

Similar to the original fairytale, a magical flower saves Rapunzel’s mother’s life while she is pregnant with Rapunzel. Thus, when Rapunzel was born, her hair possesses the magical qualities of the flower.

Mother Gothel, the latest Disney villain, locks Rapunzel up in a tower so she could be the only one to have access to her hair’s ability. Every year on her birthday, Rapunzel’s parents release lanterns in hopes that she would return. On her 18th birthday, Rapunzel longs to leave the tower to see the lanterns, which leads to the plot of the movie.

For an animated film, the special effects that brought the magical flower and the glowing lanterns to life were actually quite enchanting.

The way this movie was made, Rapunzel is about to be the next "it" princess. The film’s two protagonists, appropriately voiced by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, will steal the hearts of viewers.

Beware, Hannah Montana, there’s a new blonde that’s about to be the spectacle of little girls this Christmas. A bit predictable but nevertheless adorable, “Tangled” is a tale that is bound to be a classic movie for generations to come.
