'Source Code' – 4 out of 5 stars

Most time-travel films visit distant lands or distant eras in time, but the new film, "Source Code," is a little different from all the rest.

Set on a train heading to Chicago, Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays Captain Culter Stevens, has a mission assigned to him by an unknown military organization. At approximately 8:00 a.m. that morning, the train that Stevens is on exploded due to a bomb that was planted inside of the train. The military believes that there will be another attack by the same culprit who planted the morning’s bomb some time later that day that will destroy all of Chicago. It is Stevens’ job to go back in time and find the culprit who set off the bomb before he strikes again. The catch is he only has eight minutes to go back in time to the same train at the same time in the same place. Will Stevens complete his mission and save Chicago? Is he beginning to fall in love with the passenger who seems to know him named Chirstina Warren, played by Michelle Monaghan?

This film is quite a ride and will keep you at the edge of your seat for most of the movie. But in my opinion, I can only watch the same scene over and over again for so many times. Stevens learns new information every scene, but all of the people and actions stay the same until I wish he could go back somewhere else for eight minutes.

Gyllenhaal, who you may know from "The Day After Tomorrow," was able to keep the audience entertained by his charming demeanor and his quick wit.

Overall the film was fun to watch, but it was hard to sit through the beginning.
