9-0 run gets KU back in the game
With 7:08 to play in the first half, Baylor guard Curtis Jerrells hit a three-point jumper late in the shot clock to extend the Baylor lead to 17. No. 1 Kansas appeared to be on the ropes and fighting not to get knocked out, as Kansas coach Bill Self called a timeout to try to rally his troops.
Over the next three minutes, Kansas responded with a 9-0 run to cut the score to 30-22, before Baylor coach Scott Drew was forced to call a timeout as the heavy contingent of Kansas fans saluted their players. Baylor finally ended the Kansas run with a powerful two-handed dunk from Kevin Rogers.
At a media timeout with 3:36 left in the first half, Baylor still leads, 32-24, although Kansas is beginning to play up to their capability.
