Tigers Down at the Half

No tags for this entry.

As the first half comes to a close, Missouri trails the Cornhuskers 39-28. Nebraska has led the entire game.

Laurence Bowers has been one of the lone bright spots for the Tigers, hitting four of his six shots, and leading the team with nine points. His tip in, off a missed layup by Zaire Taylor, capped Missouri's play in the first 20 minutes.

As a team, however, the Tigers are struggling. They are shooting 36.7 percent from the field, and are only three of 12 from beyond the arc. Kim English is only two of seven, and Taylor has yet to record a field goal in five shot attempts.

Nebraska, on the other hand, is getting contributions from all over the court. Sek Henry and Ryan Anderson lead the team with seven points each. The unit has made 13 of their 22 shots, including five of 10 from three-point range. The Huskers also have the advantage on the glass, securing 19 rebounds compared to 11 for Missouri.

A note to watch for the Tigers entering the second half - center Steve Moore appeared to injure his ear on a camera when he came down from grabbing a rebound. With Justin Safford out, Missouri is already short on depth at the forward position. Stay tuned to see how coach Mike Anderson and the Tigers deal with this situation.
