MSA voting postponed until future notice
The voting Web site for the MSA presidential elections has been disabled due to technical errors, Board of Elections Commissioners Chairman Justin Mohn said tonight at 7:50 p.m.
"What we know for sure at this point is last we checked, no one has been able to vote in the hour and fifty minutes the application has been up," Mohn said.
The BEC is working with the Division of Information Technology to correct the site problems. Mohn said his point person at DoIT, Mary Jorgenson, is talking to a programmer to come into the office and look at the issue.
Mohn said the board has made the executive decision to take the ballot offline to prevent discrepancies, in case the site begins working sometime tonight or tomorrow morning.
The board has scheduled a meeting for tomorrow morning and will discuss tentative dates to restart the voting process for MSA.
"We don't want to tie ourselves down to a date at this point," Mohn said about the BEC's plan of action. However, Mohn said he doesn't foresee the election restarting until next Monday at the soonest.
The BEC did two trial runs of the election a few weeks ago.
