Current Operations Committee vice chairman Evan Wood was selected and nominated to the committee for approval by Missouri Students Association Senate Speaker Amanda Shelton after an extensive resume-reviewing and interviewing process of the three applicants.

Shelton announced her nominee for the vacant Operations Committee chairmanship position during the Operations Committee Meeting Tuesday night.

“Evan has an excellent combination of skills that will help him lead this committee,” Shelton said. “He is very project-oriented, he thinks in the long-term and follows through on the projects he creates. Evan is very people-oriented and positive. Also, he is not shy to work on short-term legislation which is important in Operations.”

The Operations Committee was given the chance to ask Wood various questions they had regarding his plans for the future direction of the committee and Senate as a whole.

Evan said he will take on a moderator role as Operations Committee chair and will fulfill this position by facilitating and encouraging constructive and concise debate.

Wood’s appointment to the position will be voted on by the Senate at next week’s full Senate meeting.
