Feb. 6 Board of Curators multimedia
The Feb. 6 portion of the UM system Board of Curators meeting at Reynolds Alumni Center included the State of the University address from UM president Gary Forsee and a campus report from Chancellor Brady Deaton.
Forsee began his address by reviewing the highlights of 2008.
"I want you to be impressed with the scope and scale of the impact that we have on the state of Missouri," he said.
Forsee also discussed strategies to keep the UM system competitive on both the national and global scale, including university-wide audits and a plan to accommodate UM's education to the needs of Missouri's largest employers. Below is a video of Forsee's address:

In Deaton's report, he shared the progress MU science professors have made in the way of research, such as Habib Zaghouuani, who is working to cure Type 1 diabetes. He also stressed the importance of transparency, specifically with the budget. Below is the audio of Deaton's report:
