RHA welcomes new parliamentarian
Freshman Residence Halls Association member Michael Crawford was officially voted in by congress to replace Mike Madden as RHA parliamentarian. Madden stepped down from the position to be the national communications coordinator in training. Madden will be working closely with present NCC and Vice President-elect Lauren Thomas, and instead of occupying two leadership positions, he decided it would be more fair to step down.
"Crawford knows parliamentary procedures very well, and now he has the opportunity to be parliamentarian," Madden said.
While Speaker of Congress Blake Lawrence said he will miss Madden, Crawford's enthusiasm for the position has Lawrence optimistic.
"Michael will do a good job too," he said.
Crawford said his experience interning for Representative Billy Pat Wright at the state Capitol gives him parliamentary knowledge, and hopes he can continue to improve RHA in his position.
