Provost appoints interim Graduate School dean

Provost Brian Foster announced the appointment of a new interim vice provost for advanced studies and dean of the Graduate School on Tuesday, according to a news release.

Foster appointed Graduate School Associate Dean George Justice to the positions of vice provost for advances studies and Graduate School dean. He will replace Pam Benoit, who will leave the position June 30 to take a job as Ohio University’s executive vice president and provost after 25 years at MU.

“I look forward to leading our campus’s efforts in graduate education through building programs and recruiting, training and supporting the outstanding students who contribute so much to our research and teaching missions,” said Justice, whose appointment will become effective July 1.

Foster said plans to search for a permanent dean will be announced in the next few weeks.
