Sustain Mizzou continues to play an active role at MU this year.

The Missouri Students Association and Sustain Mizzou partnered with MU last spring to encourage the creation of new positions within the Environmental Affairs Committee allowing students to work directly with university officials on sustainability projects on campus.

Sustainability Coordinators Ben Datema and Steve Burdic are starting the interview process this week in order to hire six “SustainaReps” that can help with programming for sustainability initiatives on campus.

Sustain Mizzou President Emily Albertson said she plans to rally her team of environment-loving students to build mountains out of trash and organize a campus farmers’ market on Lowry Mall, among other projects, in order to spread awareness about sustainability.

Students will see members of Sustain Mizzou this Saturday at the football game at Faurot Field.

Members will be handing out recycling bags to tailgaters and monitoring recycling bins as part of their Tiger Tailgate Recycling program.
