Water main break closes off part of Lowry Mall
A water main leak in Lowry Mall sent a small amount of water running from the walkway in front of the Student Success Center to 9th Street on Thursday.
Employees from Columbia Water and Light, the city’s utility company, cordoned off the area where the leak originated and dug into the brick walkway on Lowry Mall to seal the leak.
“The leak started early this morning, but it’s just a small one,” Supervisor Greg Keimig said. “We’ve been working to fix it since before noon and the work should be wrapped up before the end of the day.”
