The LGBTQ Resource Center presented three $500 scholarships to students who exemplify outstanding leadership and involvement with the LGBTQ community at MU.
Awardees for this year’s scholarships are graduate students Michael Greenwell and Noah Lelek and senior Valerie Pollock.
“Each individual presented a case within their application that showed significant contributions to the LGBTQ community here at Mizzou and beyond,” LGBTQ Resource Center Coordinator Ryan Black said.
The scholarships were approved in 2005, but this is the first time they have been awarded. Applications for the scholarship were due on Oct. 1, and the minimum requirements are a 2.9 or above GPA, full-time student status, 30 completed credit hours, submitted writing, a letter of recommendation and a resume. They will be offered again next year.
