MSA inspector general resigns amid election controversy
After announcing and then revising his intentions to investigate the Missouri Students Association's Board of Elections Commissioners, Inspector General Eric Hucker resigned from his position, according to an e-mail sent at 3:11 p.m. Friday.
Hucker said early Thursday morning that he intended to investigate the BEC for its issuance of infractions against MSA presidential slate Travis-Horan. But, a few hours later Thursday morning, Hucker revised his statement, instead saying that he would wait until the conclusion of the MSA election to commence an investigation of the BEC.
“I have failed at these (bylaw) requirements and I have failed to uphold the noble purpose of this office,” Hucker said in an e-mail confirming his resignation.
According to chapter 8.10 section A of the bylaws, the Inspector General shall serve to conduct independent and objective audits, investigations and inspections, prevent and detect waste, fraud and abuse, promote economy, effectiveness and efficiency as well as to review pending legislation and regulation.
“This office has the potential to do great things in this Associaton and I am eager to see what it can do under more effective leadership,” Hucker said in his resignation letter to MSA President Tim Noce.

I find this very odd. Eric was qualified for the position and a sharp young guy. I wonder what the true reason is he wants out, maybe using this as an excuse instead of just coming out and saying, "Um, I don't wanna do this any more because it's too much work and not enough pay, that is all." LOL
