Asian American Association gets snazzy for winter formal
The Asian American Association’s semester of activities commenced Friday evening with their winter formal.
Held at the Columbia Country Club, 81 students gathered for a night of eating, dancing and performing. The night’s theme was “19 20 10: Vintage at its Best.”
Some students showed up donned in zoot suits and flapper dresses, to appease the night’s theme. The students watched performances and a keynote speech before naming Mr. and Ms. AAA. Freshmen Danny Poon and Andrea Park, also the night’s photographer, were crowned Mr. and Ms. AAA.
“The winter formal went fantastically well,” Internal Vice President Emily Nguyen said. “The banquet took a lot of work and planning, but it all paid off. Everyone said they had a great time are looking forward to the spring banquet next year.”
AAA’s next gathering is a general body meeting 7 p.m. Jan 20.
