Catholic music artist to lead Lenten prayer
Catholic singer/songwriter Michael James Mette will lead worship during the Lenten Evening of Prayer and Adoration at the St. Thomas More Newman Center on Tuesday.
The Lenten Evening of Prayer and Adoration runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., according to the Newman Center Web site. Mette will lead worship at 7:30 p.m.
For Lent, Mette is going on his “40 Days of Praise” tour, for which he will play at a different location every day and record his reflections on a daily video podcast.
Lent, which began last Wednesday and ends Easter Sunday, commemorates the 40 days Satan tempted Jesus in the desert.
The Catholic Student Association will go on a Spring Lenten Retreat at Camp Trinity in Haven, Mo. from March 5 to 7, according to the Newman Center Web site.
