Catholic Student Association prays outside Planned Parenthood
The Catholic Student Association will pray outside Planned Parenthood Thursday for the 40 Days for Life campaign.
Students will pray from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday for women considering abortion, CSA Pro-Life Chair Kayla Hartmann said.
“We as Catholics believe that life is our most precious gift, and it’s really important for us to fight for those who can’t speak for themselves,” Hartmann said.
The 40 Days for Life campaign involves praying, fasting, keeping a vigil outside abortion clinics and reaching out to the community to end abortion, according to their Web site.
“The ultimate hope would be that abortion would cease to be in our country,” Hartmann said. “That’s probably a far-off time. I feel that if we’re praying outside there and we change the heart of just one woman, it’s worth our time.”
CSA will also attend a Pro-Life Mid-Point rally at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Friday at 6:30 p.m., according to the CSA mailing list.
At the rally, there will be speakers and a silent auction to fundraise for the 40 Days for Life campaign, Hartmann said.
