The Missouri Students Association confirmed two new Senate chairpersons for the fall semester Wednesday night.

Freshman Greg Loeffler was approved to replace current chairwoman Lisa Grelle. He said he plans to improve relations between the university and the city council and make sure MU is recognized as a vital part of the Columbia community.

"I see him almost every week at cabinet meetings," Senate Speaker Evan Wood said. "He has a lot of experience for the position and lot of ideas regarding what campus and community relations are and how to improve them."

Wood said he selected freshman Everett Bruer as his pick for the next Academic Affairs chairman because he stood out as the "progidy" of outgoing chair Ian Krause.

Bruer listed several specific goals he plans to tackle during his term, including looking into such issues as the College of Business' school noticeable percentage increase in course fees and the Board of Curator's decision to raise out-of-state tuition for undergraduate students.
