Curators discuss retirement plan review project
Betsy Rodriguez, UM system vice president of human resources, discussed updates on the retirement plan review project, at the UM system Board of Curators meeting.
According to the presentation, the plan's mission is to develop a different way to provide pension benefits to UM system faculty and staff. Plan details include requiring employees to help the program through contributions, and helping to eliminate accumulated liability on the UM system's balance sheet.
The timeline put in place for this project includes a market analysis in September 2010, meetings with faculty and staff groups in October 2010 and a recommendation to the Board of Curators in December 2010.
