Student killed in motorcycle accident

Sophomore Caitlin Valora was killed in a motorcycle accident Monday morning, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

The crash occurred at E. Nifong Boulevard and State Farm Parkway around 11 a.m. The news release stated Valora, who was a passenger on the motorcycle, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver, junior Aaron Hansberry, made the call to police after the crash and was treated for a broken leg at University Hospital.

The news release stated Hansberry was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but that no other helmet was found by investigators at the scene accident.
