Legion of Black Collegians hosts forum on Twitter, politics
The Legion of Black Collegians Political Action Committee held a forum Tuesday night, focusing on the relationship between politicians and Twitter.
Political Committee Chairwoman Whitney Williams conducted the forum.
The discussion compared celebrities’ actions with politicians’ actions on Twitter, and what they should not be sharing online.
“It’s pretty obvious we like to think that celebrities are humans. But how far is too far for politicians?” Williams asked.
Extreme posts included an execution announcement from a Utah official and inappropriate pictures shared by a politician. The forum became very heated when the topic discussed what was appropriate material for politicians to send out to the public.
The event encouraged Williams to hold a similar forum in the future that allows her to convince more students to attend.
