Columbia named 13th best college town
Columbia is the 13th best college town in America, according to a report put out Tuesday by the American Institute for Economic Research.
The AIER College Destinations Index looked at 12 different factors ranging from student diversity to the local cost of living. In a copy of the 2010-11 report, the AIER ranked Columbia as 13th best, behind College Station, Texas, which is home to Texas A&M University, and ahead of Flagstaff, Ariz., home to Northern Arizona University.
Previous media reports have said Columbia was ranked 9th in the College Towns Category. Lawrence, Kan. was ranked ninth, according the copy of the report available on their website.
