Search committee for next UM System president will begin later this month
At the conclusion of Friday’s special Board of Curators meeting, chairman Warren Erdman announced the search committee for the next UM System president will hold its first meeting at 10 a.m. on Jan. 27.
“That is a little earlier than we had planned, but search takes a little more work from the board members,” Erdman said. “It’s very important that the board has a discussion about the philosophy of the search.”
Erdman has not placed a deadline on the final decision.
The search for a new president began Jan. 7, after former president Gary Forsee announced his resignation from the position in order to spend more time with his wife as she battles cancer.
