Kiplinger ranks MU among best values in public colleges
In Kiplinger Personal Finance’s annual Best Values in Public Colleges list, MU ranked 75th and 76th in in-state and out-of-state costs, respectively.
According to the rankings, in-state costs were about $18,178 annually and out-of-state costs came in at about $30,193. Average need-based aid was $7,152, whereas non-need-based aid was $3,531. A student’s average debt at graduation is $20,689.
The admission rate is 83 percent and four-year graduation rate is 43 percent.
More than 500 public institutions are considered for the list. Rankings are determined by sorting the schools based on quality measures such as admission and graduation rate, as well as cost data such as tuition, fees, room and board and financial aid.
“It is this combination of academic quality and affordability – not any desire on our part to exclude a particular school – that determines which schools make our lists for best value,” the website states.
