Student Center welcomes 1,000,000th visitor
As most students waltzed in and out of the doors of the MU Student Center on Wednesday, freshman Paula Steinmeyer was treated a bit differently.
She was met with air horns and confetti, as she was the center's 1,000,000th visitor. Averaging 17,000 visitors a day, the center hit its one million mark Wednesday.
"We are thrilled that so many students, faculty and staff visit the MU Student Center each and every day," Missouri Student Unions associate director Heath Immel said. "This building is a landmark in the heart of Mizzou and the hub of student activities and involvement. Reaching one million visitors so soon in the semester is a great accomplishment and we wanted to recognize the moment with a fun celebration."
Steinmeyer was welcomed with a sash, $50 gift cards to the University Bookstore, Campus Dining Services and a $50 US Bank Visa Check card. She also received a Beetle Bailey Mizzou shirt.
