Faculty Council passes adjusted schedules for class meetings, final exams

Provost Brian Foster and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Cathy Scroggs sent out an e-mail Tuesday morning detailing the changes made to finals week and class schedules to compensate for the three snow days MU had earlier in the semester.

For Wednesday classes that were canceled, they will meet Friday, May 6 at their usual time.

Tuesday/Thursday classes that were canceled will meet Thursday, May 5 at their usual time. Although this doesn’t fully make up for the missed instruction time, Faculty Council encourages faculty to use different methods to cover the missed material.

Thursday only classes that were cancelled will meet Thursday, May 5 at their usual time.

Tuesday and Monday only classes that were canceled are asked to look into using Tegrity or other electronic options. For classes needing face-to-face instruction, faculty members are asked to attempt to schedule another time and location to make up the missed class session.

For classes affected that only meet for part of the semester they are allowed to extend class meetings for an additional week, only if they’re able to confirm the space is available.

Faculty members are asked to make different arrangements for students who have conflicts with this solution.

The revised schedule is posted here.
