Safety confirmed for all 9 MU students studying in Japan
All nine MU students studying abroad in Japan are safe, confirmed by MU spokesman Christian Basi.
"We have been in contact with all nine of the students who are studying there, and they are all safe," Basi said.
The news of their safety came this morning, Basi said. Additionally, MU is looking to support its 17 students who live in Japan but are studying in Columbia. He said the university is looking to provide them with any assistance, such as phoning home to their families.
This news comes after an 8.9-magnitude scale earthquake struck Japan on Thursday. It is the strongest earthquake in Japan's recorded history, with Japan's leading news agency Kyodo News reporting more than 1,000 citizens are feared dead.
