Possible tornado sighting near Ashland triggers MU sirens
The National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a severe squall line capable of producing brief tornadoes and wind damage at 3:33 p.m. Friday. The sighting, reported seven miles northeast of Ashland, Mo., which is located about 15 miles south of Columbia, triggered the MU campus tornado sirens a few minutes later. The storm is moving east at 45 mph.
