DoIT streamlines student email addresses for clarity
Small change and clarity are coming to student email addresses.
Starting Aug. 3, extensions of outgoing emails by students will match their Windows Live ID domain, @mail.missouri.edu, instead of @mail.mizzou.edu. Students can still receive email with this extension, but messages sent will be from @mail.missouri.edu. According to the Division of IT, this is to stop confusion as to which is the actual extension for student emails.
The change will not affect how students log in to their email accounts and will only affect those subscribed to discussion lists. To send messages within these lists, each subscriber would have to notify the list owner that his or her address ends with @mail.missouri.edu.
