New partnership brings six soldiers to MU
On Monday, MU re-partnered with the Concurrent Admissions Program through an agreement signed by MU Vice Provost for Enrollment Management Ann Korschgen and Lt. Colonel Vernon Jakoby, Commander of the Kansas City Army Recruiting Battalion.
The partnership, which was previously voided due to eligibility requirements, was made possible after changes in army programs and eligibility information. MU has pushed to become more veteran-friendly since the formation of a task force in 2007 by Chancellor Brady Deaton.
ConAP will allow future soldiers to apply for and use GI Bill education benefits through the MU Veterans Center.
As of Monday, six soldiers have selected MU as their school of choice, Veterans Center Director Carol Fleisher said.
