Emergency notification system to be tested Thursday
Phones utilizing MU's mass notification system will buzz at about 2:50 p.m. Thursday when a system test is conducted.
MU spokesman Christian Basi said this is a completely normal, but mandatory test. He encouraged freshmen to sign up for the service.
“If any faculty, staff or students do not receive a text message, it’s important that they register their mobile devices with the notification system,” MU project specialist Katie Whitman said in a news release. “For information on how to register, please visit mualert.missouri.edu. This system gives us one more tool that we can use in case of an emergency on campus.”
