Team building was the focus of the Residence Halls Association weekly committee meetings Feb. 7.
Committees were given the option to meet outside of their usual rooms in the lower level of Pershing Hall. While other committees, such as the Advocacy Committee, decided to meet in Plaza 900 dining hall, the Operations Committee met at their usual time and place to discuss a funding request.
The Operations Committee approved a funding request for $470 which will go towards Defoe-Graham Hall’s celebration of the Indian festival Holi. The event is meant to teach residents more about Indian culture as well as celebrate the beginning of spring.
On April 16, Defoe-Graham will host a “color-fight” in Peace Park, which is part of the tradition of Holi. Throughout the week leading up to the event, residents will have multiple opportunities to learn about Indian food and culture.
RHA’s funding will go towards white t-shirts and color powder for the event.
The Operations Committee then voted to adjourn early rather than do team building activities.
