City announces Hinkson Clean Sweep
The City of Columbia announced the 7th annual Hinkson Clean Sweep will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Oct. 16 at various creeks and streams around the city.
Volunteers will clean up various streams and pick up garbage around them to prevent it from getting into the region's watershed. Groups can register together and there are handicap accessible and kid-friendly sites. You can pick a stream near you to clean or be assigned to whatever stream needs extra volunteers.
