Missouri Task Force 1 leaves Joplin
Missouri Task Force 1 was sent to Joplin, Mo., after an 8 p.m. call Sunday for a full Type 1 Task Force team, according to a news release. By 3 a.m. Monday morning, 85 members of the team were in Joplin. The team members brought more than 100,000 pounds of equipment and spent their time working in the heart of where the city was hit.
"Search and rescue teams found complete devastation and unfortunately several human remains," the news release stated.
Task Force 1 has now demobilized and departed for Columbia, Mo., this morning.
