Rock Bridge High School senior Skyler Hinton talks about friend Stuart Eiken, whose body was found by a motorist on Saturday hanging from a water pumping station. Hinton as well as other students plan to honor Eiken through t-shirts, banners and decals on football helmets. Read the rest here.
H1N1 vaccinations have arrived but, due to small shipments, are only being offered to doctors and other health workers that are at risk of infection. The vaccine is called FluMist and is shot up the nose. Check out more here.
Keyonda Lumpkin, who has been on trial for her part in the death of her 2-year-old son, Cortez Johnson, was sentenced to 24 years in prison yesterday. Charged with second-degree murder, Lumpkin will not be eligible for parole until she has served 20 years. To read more, click here.
What’s Happening
Today, Alcohol Responsibility Month speaker Mark Sterner will share personal experiences with alcohol on his spring break, and how drinking and driving affected his life. The event takes place in Jesse Auditorium at 8 p.m.
Tomorrow is the Homecoming Tiger Tango Service Event. Students will meet in the Columbia Area Senior Center at 7 p.m. to dance the night away in their favorite black and gold attire.
