Voter turnout fell to 10.1 percent, the lowest point in recent memory.

The mobile surveillance cameras that have kept a watchful eye over downtown Columbia for the last month won't be staying. The Tribune reports the council voted not to lease the cameras permanently because of privacy and civil liberty concerns.

Columbia police will adopt Taser use guidelines developed by the Police Executive Research Forum, the Tribune reports. Columbia anti-Taser groups had previously asked the department to adopt the standards.
