Georgia law enforcement officials alerted The Columbia Police Department of a suspect arrested in Georgia Sept. 23 on a warrant from 1985 for a 1976 Columbia homicide case. Read more here.

The University of Missouri’s Health Care System and Cerner Corp. have come together to create the Tiger Institute for Health Innovation, said to have a $100 million impact. This works to improve electronic health records at university hospitals and clinics. Read the rest here.

What’s Happening

There is a poetry slam today in Bengal Lair at Memorial Student Union at 7 p.m. All poets on campus are encouraged to compete for prizes, and students are asked to come out and support their peers’ lyrical work.

Tomorrow night at 8 p.m. “Waltz With Bashir” will be showing for free in Wrench Auditorium at Memorial Student Union. In this movie, Israeli film director Ari Folman interviews fellow veterans of the 1982 invasion of Lebanon. He works to rebuild his memories of his service to learn about himself, but as he progresses into the conflict, his mind takes a turn.
