Warren Funeral Chapel to remain closed

Today the Boone County Circuit Court judge, Kevin Crane, ruled to keep the funeral home, Warren Funeral Chapel, of Harold Warren Jr. and Harold Warren Sr. closed while the case brought against them by Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon and the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors continues.  The next hearing date is set for Nov. 3.

Dan Viets, the attorney for defendants, said the agreement was voluntary.

Nixon’s petition was filed on July 25. The first count against the defendants in the petition is public health, safety and welfare violations, which include improper care and storage of human remains, and other unsanitary conditions and violations. The second count is merchandising practices violations.
