Police chief candidate Michael J. Clancey has withdrawn from the selection process. The city learned of Clancey's withdrawal from Slavin Management Consultants, the firm that is helping with the search process.

The firm told city officials Clancey would be unable to fly to Columbia for an interview due to an injury, stated a news release from the city.

The four remaining candidates include Kenneth Burton and Todd Miller, both from Texas and  Christine Laughlin and Wayne McCoy, both from Missouri.

The public is invited to meet the candidates tonight from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Activities and Recreation Center on Ash Street.
