Columbia Police investigating Christmas Eve burglaries
The Columbia Police Department is investigating numerous burglaries that happened on late on Christmas Eve, a CPD news release stated.
CPD officers responded to a burglary report just after midnight on Christmas morning. The address of the residence of the crime was 1539 Rolling Rock in Columbia, the news release stated. After further investigation, CPD determined 12 more residences had been burglarized on Rolling Rock and six more in other nearby locations, the news release stated.
According to the news release, forced entry was made using the front or rear door and most of the items stolen were small electronics or flat screen TVs.
CPD received 42 residential burglary reports during November and has already received 72 reports during the month of December, including the 19 reported on Dec. 24, the news release stated.
