CPD arrests two wanted persons
The Columbia Police Department received information on two wanted persons and made the arrests on the same day, a CPD news release stated.
On Dec. 22, CPD received information on wanted persons Courtney T. May-Rainey and Emmanual D. Perry being located in Columbia, the news release stated.
According to the news release, Perry was wanted for a felony probation, a parole warrant and a State misdemeanor warrant. Perry was also arrested for resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and drug trafficking. CPD's Street Crimes unit searched for Perry and apprehended him at about 4 p.m. on Dec. 22, in the area of Sexton and Jewell Roads, the news release stated.
The news release also stated Rainey was found around 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 22 in the area of the Wal Mart located at 1201 Grindstone Parkway. CPD's Street Crimes unit arrested him after a short foot chase that began in the parking lot and ended inside the store. Rainey was arrested for resisting arrest, one count of trespassing, a felony state warrant for trespassing, a felony state warrant for failure to appear, six felony state warrants for traffic charges, a felony state warrant for forgery, a misdemeanor municipal warrant and a probation and parol warrant, the news release stated.
According to the news release, there was no bond set for either person and they were both sent to Boone County Jail.
