Body found in Missouri River
The body of a 56-year-old Liberty, Mo. woman was found in the Missouri River in Saline County near Glasgow on Saturday, a Missouri State Highway Patrol news release stated.
The woman, Lana C. Sandweiss, had been missing since Nov. 26, 2008.
Missouri State Highway Patrol had found her car, a 2004 Chrysler, running on the Missouri River Bridge on Missouri Highway 13, after a stranded motorist called in the report, the news release stated.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime control conducted an investigation, and the Missouri State Water Patrol conducted a search but weren't able to find the body during the search, the news release stated.
Deputies from the Saline, Howard and Chariton counties assisted in the search.
