Police find drugs and a handgun during search

Police served two narcotics search warrants Thursday night, stated news releases from the Columbia Police Department.

The first search, at 4500 Wren Wood Drive, happened around 6:35 p.m., the news release stated.

Police found seven adults and five children in the home. A legally possessed handgun and misdemeanor amount of marijuana were also found.

One person, Russel Olsen, 29, of Columbia was arrested on a warrant. Juan Laboy, 27, of Columbia, was arrested on suspicion of the misdemeanor possession of marijuana, one of the news releases stated.

The second search, at 706 Norwalk Drive, happened around 7:14 p.m. No one was home at the time of the search.

Officers found drug paraphernalia and a misdemeanor amount of marijuana, the second news release stated.

The investigation is ongoing.
