Break Time robbed Thursday night

The Break Time Convenience Store at 2402 Paris Road was robbed Thursday night, stated a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

The suspect, described as a man around 6 feet tall with a medium build, was wearing a blue sweatshirt with a silver hood and camouflage bib overalls. He entered the store at 10 p.m. and immediately threatened the clerk with a handgun, the news release stated.

He ordered the 19-year-old clerk to give him the money in the cash register and safe. The clerk gave the man money from the register but did not have access to the safe.

The suspect told the clerk to stay in the back room while he fled the store on foot and headed east, the news release stated. No car was seen fleeing the scene.
