Skeletal remains indentified
The Boone/Callaway County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the skeletal found earlier this year in a camp near Conley Road.
Police identified the man, who police believed to be homeless, as Mark D. Daily. His remains were discovered on Jan. 7 in a shed where police said homeless people had been known to stay.
Investigators were able to determine the victim was possibly Dailey after finding the remains and obtained DNA samples from Dailey's family members, who live in Ohio.
Officials have determined Dailey was murdered and the cause of death was blunt force injuries to the face and stab wounds to his neck, the news release stated.
