MU student hit near Rollins Street crosswalk
A student sits on a curb on Rollins Street while medics prepare him for transport to University Hospital on Tuesday afternoon. He sustained minor injuries.
An MU student was the victim of a car accident at Rollins Street near Virginia Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore Matthew A. Skare was hit by Tyrone Vaughns at the crosswalk on Rollins Street near Virginia Avenue. Vaughns fled the scene after hitting Skare, MU Police Department Capt. Scott Richardson said.
Skare suffered minor abrasions and was taken to the hospital.
Witnesses at the scene identified the license plate on Vaughns' car and police were able to arrest him after the accident. Richardson said MUPD had Vaughns in custody following the accident.
Richardson said the incident was an accident.
