Car flips to avoid deer
A car became overturned after the driver swerved to avoid a deer early Wednesday morning. The crash was South of Columbia in the 10151 block of Smith Hatchery Road.
A car with five MU students was driving on Smith Hatchery Road in Boone County when the driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer early Wednesday morning, Boone County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. James Perkins said.
The car went off the road, onto the embankment and flipped, landing on its top in the 10151 block of the road.
Only one vehicle was involved and Perkins did not disclose if seatbelts were worn.
Boone County Fire Protection District crews on scene said three were taken to the hospital. The driver was treated on scene for minor injuries, Perkins said.
