Drug searches lead to two arrests

Police conducted two drug-related search warrants Wednesday night, leading to the arrests of two men, stated a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

At 9:15 p.m. police conducted a search at 915 Sondra Ave, where they found 3.5 pounds of high-grade marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor amount of hash and a prescription pill, the news release stated.

David P. Monroe, 22, was arrested on suspicion of distributing a controlled substance, on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance felony, possessing of a controlled substance misdemeanor and using or possessing drug paraphernalia.

The second search, conducted at 707 Ridgeway Ave. at 12:09 a.m., resulted in the arrest of Roger D. Webb, 27, on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance misdemeanor and use or possession of drug paraphernalia, the news release stated.

Police also seized numerous items of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor amount of marijuana, cash, a rifle and packaging materials at the residence.

The investigation is ongoing and more people could still be arrested.
