Sheriff's department works extra shifts
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department worked several extra shifts to participate in the statewide “You Drink & Drive. You Lose” campaign from Aug. 21 to Sept. 7, stated a news release from the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.
As of a result of the additional enforcement, the department was able to identify and arrest 26 people for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
The news release also stated that the Missouri Department of Transportation Highway Safety Division provided overtime funding for the department’s participation in the campaign.
